OTA imagery is not a creative decision. It is a commercial one.
"The audit is built on observing how guests decide — not on photography standards. Every finding is ranked by revenue impact, not visual preference."
Three components. One clear output.
How your listing reads against your direct competitive set — not in isolation.
Your OTA listing evaluated against 3–5 direct competitors in your submarket. Not based on aesthetics — based on how a guest decision forms when your listing appears alongside theirs in a live search grid.
- Hero image comparison across the competitive set
- Rate-to-visual tier alignment per competitor
- First-impression gap analysis — thumbnail, title image, lead room shot
- Mobile rendering assessment
A direct assessment of whether your imagery supports or undermines your rate.
The core of the audit. A direct assessment of whether your imagery supports, undermines, or is neutral to your current rate — evaluated from the guest's decision perspective, not the brand team's creative brief.
- Does your visual tier match your price tier?
- Where does the guest perceive downgrade risk?
- Which spaces over-perform or under-perform visually?
- F&B, lobby, and amenity perception assessment
What to fix first. Ranked by revenue impact, not visual preference.
Not a mood board. Not a creative direction document. A prioritised list of the specific changes most likely to affect booking behaviour — some requiring no new photography at all.
- Changes ranked by estimated booking impact
- Identifies quick wins vs. full repositioning needs
- Executable by your existing team or through Toy Media Inc.
- Distinguishes no-shoot fixes from strategic photography gaps
The deliverable. The price. No ambiguity.
- Competitive visual benchmark vs. 3–5 direct competitors
- Rate-tier alignment verdict — does your imagery support your rate?
- Decision-path analysis — where guests stall or disengage
- Priority action list ranked by estimated revenue impact
- Loom walkthrough video — narrated and shareable with your team
- Full PDF report for ownership or marketing review

Experience with Hilton, Marriott, IHG,
Meyer Jabara Hotels, and independent operators.
Cliff's work at The Sagaponack elevated how the property is presented across our marketing channels. The updated imagery more clearly communicates the guest experience and aligns with the level of customer we aim to attract. His understanding of both the visual and operational side of hospitality made the process seamless and aligned with the property's overall positioning.

Is this just a pitch to sell photography services?
No. The audit is a standalone diagnostic. The action brief will tell you what needs to change — and in some cases, the answer is curation and resequencing of existing assets, not new photography. There is no obligation beyond the $750 audit fee.
We already have professional photography. Why would we need this?
Professional photography and OTA-optimized visual positioning are not the same thing. Most hotels have images that are technically well-executed but poorly sequenced, incorrectly prioritized for mobile, or misaligned with their rate tier. The audit evaluates your images in context — against your competitive set and relative to your rate — not in isolation.
How is this different from what our OTA account manager tells us?
OTA account managers optimize for platform engagement metrics. This audit is built around rate integrity and booking conversion from the guest decision-making perspective — including how your listing reads against direct competitors in your submarket, not the platform average.
Can this work for branded hotels with brand photography standards?
Yes. Brand standards define minimum requirements — they do not define competitive positioning within a submarket. IHG properties in the same city compete against each other. The audit evaluates how your specific property performs within those standards and against your direct competitive set.
What do we do with the audit after we receive it?
The Loom format is designed to be shared with your GM, Revenue Manager, Director of Sales, or ownership group without requiring a follow-up call. The PDF supports ownership presentations and budget conversations. Most clients use the priority action brief to drive their next photography brief or listing update.
What if our issues are bigger than photography?
That will be in the audit. If the gap is better addressed through repositioning strategy rather than a photography update, the audit will say so — and outline what that path looks like. The goal is an accurate diagnosis, not a photography recommendation by default.
