Property Overview

Holiday Inn – Long Island Islip Airport East is a full-service airport hotel located directly off Interstate 495 near Long Island MacArthur Airport. The property serves a mix of business travelers, airport arrivals, and short-stay leisure guests visiting family across Suffolk County.

With strong guest review scores and a reputation for reliable comfort, the hotel competes within a highly functional booking environment where guests make rapid decisions across multiple comparable properties.

Key characteristics of the property include:

  • Modern guest rooms with workspaces

  • On-site restaurant and bar (Sonoma Bar & Grill)

  • Airport shuttle service

  • Meeting and event space

  • Convenient highway access to regional destinations

Typical ADR observed across OTA platforms ranges between approximately $317 – $394 for standard rooms, with suites exceeding $500 depending on demand and seasonality.

In this segment, booking decisions often occur quickly and are driven primarily by clarity, cleanliness, and reliability signals rather than aspirational design.

Visual Strategy

Airport and highway hotels operate within an environment where booking decisions are often made quickly.

Guests are typically evaluating several properties simultaneously and scanning image galleries to assess risk before committing to a reservation.

For this project, the visual strategy focused on communicating three key signals immediately:

1. Cleanliness

Guests instinctively evaluate hotel rooms through visual cues that indicate hygiene and maintenance.

Hotel room with two beds, nightstand with plant, wall-mounted lamps, window with sheer curtains, TV, desk, and chair.
Hotel room with a large flat-screen TV, a desk with a lamp, a chair, a flower vase, and a coffee machine.

Attention was placed on:

  • Bed presentation

  • Bathroom clarity and lighting

  • Organized surfaces

  • Fresh linens and towels

These cues help reduce perceived uncertainty prior to booking.

2. Comfort

The room imagery highlights elements that reinforce rest and convenience for travelers.

Hotel room with a large bed, window with blinds, a flat-screen TV on a desk, and a separate seating area with a sofa and coffee table
Living room with a television, sofa, coffee table with flowers, window with curtains, air conditioning unit, and a side table with a plant, adjacent to a bedroom with a bed and headboard.

Visual emphasis included:

  • Bed comfort and layout

  • Seating areas

  • Workspace functionality

  • Lighting balance within the room

These elements support the hotel’s positioning as a dependable overnight stay.

3. Reliability

For many airport and highway travelers, the priority is a stay that feels predictable and stress-free.

Interior of a small convenience store with shelves stocked with snacks, drinks, and canned goods. There are two round tables with snack packs, a plant, and a refrigerated display with beverages.

The photography was structured to communicate:

  • Clear room layouts

  • Functional amenities

  • Consistent lighting and presentation

  • Clean and welcoming public spaces

This reinforces the property’s reputation for dependable guest experience

Booking Environment

In the digital booking ecosystem, photography plays a critical role in reducing hesitation during the decision process.

Guests often move through a simplified evaluation path:

  • Search results

  • Image preview

  • Gallery scan

  • Trust formation

  • Booking decision

Within this process, the OTA image gallery effectively functions as the hotel’s digital front desk, shaping a guest’s perception before arrival.

When imagery communicates clarity and trust, guests are more likely to book without continuing to compare additional properties.
